Mar 10, 2008 · All passed UT, the other 5 were 2 1/2" thick with a double v bevel w full penatration (>I ) The thicker weldes are the ones that seem to be given us problems. Over the weekend we have managed to get one to hold and pass UT. The procedure we used was a post weld heat treatment (Resistance Heat Treatment ) we controled the cooling rate for three hrs.
ASTM A537 Class 1, 2 and 3 Steel Plates Specification ASTM A537 standard refers to pressure vessel plates, material in heat-treated, carbon-manganese silicon steel. Based on different strength and heat treatment, it ranges to Class 1, 2 and 3. The maximum thickness under ASTM A537 Class 1 is 100 mm [4 inch], and 150 mm [6 inch] for Class 2 and Class 3.
ASTM A572. The ASTM A572 specification is the Standard Specification for High-Strength Low-Alloy Columbium-Vanadium Structural Steel for plates used in general construction and structural applications. ASTM A572 includes five grades with specified minimum yield strengths of

ASTM A572 Grade 50 Steel Equivalent, Gr 65, 60 Properties Oct 04, 2020 · ASTM A572 Grade 50 Steel. ASTM A572 grade 50 steel is a low-alloy high-strength structural steel with a yield strength of 50 ksi (345 MPa) and a tensile strength of 65 ksi (450 MPa). It has better mechanical properties than ASTM A36 steel. ASTM A572 contains 5 yield point grades:Grade 42, Grade 50, Grade 55, Grade 60 and Grade 65.
ASTM A572 Specification refers to High-Strength Low-Alloy Steel Plate for structural building, among the 5 steel grades of 42, 50, 55, 60 and 65, Grade 50 is one most common steel in applications where need more strength and less weight, use steel plate of this grade other than ordinary carbon steel will make the steel structure with same steel strength but lighter weight.

To develop such creep data for re resistance analysis of structural members [12, 13], this paper presents results from high temperature creep on HSLA ASTM A572 Gr 50 steel at various temperature and stress levels.
Grade A572 Steel McMaster-CarrCombining strength with weldability and formability, A572 alloy steel is an economical choice for structural components, such as channels, beams, and framing. It has a low carbon content, making it easy to weld with a variety of welding methods. Stronger than other low-carbon steels, such as A36 steel, it handles heavy loads without fracturing. Tested using ASTM A572, these sheets and bars are
